Krystal and Zephyr turned at the sound of the scream, partially relieved for the interruption. “We shoulda stayed to fight,” Zephyr muttered.

“And let you die? I think not.” She said, then shoved Zephyr back down into a sitting position as he started to get up. “Stay.”

Zephyr got right back to his feet when Krystal turned to leave, and Phoebus dropped a hand on his shoulder. “Zephyr, you should stay. You aren’t well.”

“I’ll be fine, jeeze, it was just a few scratches and exhaustion.” Zephyr answered with a shrug of his shoulder. “’Sides, I can’t let the little sis fight with those numbskulls who don’t know how to deal with these, ah, situations.” He wanted to say worlds, but he knew better now. He’d have to send Noland or another Red Wing out to this world later, and he’d have Kain talk to Cloud about briefing his soldiers before letting them go run amok in another world.

“Sister?” Phoebus looked confused, they didn’t look related.

“Yup!” Zephyr nodded. They weren’t related. It didn’t matter, it never did. Zephyr had and always would consider the Red Wings his family. “So, let’s go! You at least have a useful arm!”

As Zephyr talked Phoebus into letting him leave the cathedral, Krystal reached the door and was looking over the situation for some sort of clue, some starting point that could end this as soon as it had began. As much as she didn’t want to see innocents die, she knew better than to stick with fighting the small fry. The Nobodies were, for the most part, keeping the Soldier heartless at bay, though with the crowd that was around, it was obvious that some were going to die in the crossfire.

‘Why Nobodies?’ Krystal hadn’t seen many since the fall of The World That Never Was. Without the Organization to guide them, they seemed to slipped back into nothingness…well, until right then. Who was leading them now? Who was leading the heartless now? Were they the same as who killed Mickey, or were there two groups? Nobodies and heartless weren’t known to work in unison.

She was torn from her revelry by Gabrielle’s yell and the reminder that she was, in fact, in the midst of all this chaos though it seemed that being so close to the Sanctuary had halted any attacks on her. The keyblade materialized in her grips as she looked to the creepers left behind, eyes narrowing in disgust. The nobodies had more intelligent then the heartless, but they were still mindless. The sensation of the keyblade drove them almost as insane, too, but they fell with ease to the blade. Creepers and soldiers were nothing to her.

‘Where are the angels?’ She thought as she ran down the steps and then pulled a woman away from a heartless, only to slash it in half immediately. She barely heard the thanks. ‘There has to be a way to get all of these people into Sanctuary instead of running about like a mindless mob!’ She thought, looking around. She noted the stage and made to run for it, thinking if she could yell loud enough she could get the mob to run in that way, at least if she promised an explanation, if they heard her. That would be the problem. Zephyr could yell a lot louder, but he was…what was he doing?

As she cut through another creeper and ushered a child away, she noticed Zephyr and Phoebus amidst the crowd, and Zephyr was already directing people towards the cathedral as Phoebus did most of the fighting, finding these demons to be quite a bit easier to kill than the previous. She wanted to hit him, but she was glad to see him nonetheless with her thoughts already in his mind, even if he wasn’t yet yelling it. She moved towards him, but when she got to his side, a Darkside rose up. Krystal hit her forehead.

“Hey, that’s not so bad, you know that. Endurable, sure, but nothing in the strength department.” Zephyr cheered. “Wanna take it?”

“No, it seems focused on something. Phoebus, you have sway. Get to the stage and tell the people to—”

“It is focused on Esmeralda!” Phoebus cried, recognizing the woman that was fleeing from the beast. Before Krystal or Zephyr could say anything more, Phoebus was off in that direction to assist the others. Krystal cursed, much to Zephyr’s amusement.

“I hate locals.”

“Aww, you’d do the same for me.” Zephyr teased and Krystal punched his arm, then returned to the fact that after Phoebus fled, they’d been surrounded by creepers. She rolled her eyes at the nobodies. “Let’s keep up here, the woman looks good and protected by the others.” Krystal nodded. “We can still send some towards Sanctuary.” With that said, the two of them moved once again in opposite directions to dispatch the small fries, Krystal hoping that when Darkside fell, the heartless would begin to vanish.
